Free代表自由，不是免費

前面說過我覺得把「free」翻成免費不妥當。

在網路上的「free」多半是指freedom含意，自由。而非價格上免費。有興趣的人可以看這篇解釋（中文版在此），自由軟體(free software)的定義。

將free定義為自由其實也是自由軟體基金會(FSF，Free Software Foundation)起的觀念。

所以我覺得在網路上表達反抗捏造新聞的中國時報這種事，強調的是我們有表達言論不受干涉的自由，若加上「免費」就顯得畫蛇添足了。
